Top Hat Art is the challenge for 4X4 Friday. This was a fun challenge! I used graphics 45 papers and some Tim Holtz stickers. The little girl in the picture is me I believe the date was 1963. I know my Mom is going to love this so I will be e-mailing her this link:)
Snow Again Today! The drive into work, well we don't even want to talk about that. 4X4 Friday's theme is tiny fairy's. My tiny fairy is ready for spring and so am I.
Spring can come anytime now!!!!! I am so tired of winter and all of the snow we have been getting.
This is my entry for the Three Muses Challenge, it's kind of a pick me up! YES!!!!! Spring is just around the corner, I can get back into my garden and get my hands dirty. That would be so great! I'm hoping that Spring Time is just around the corner.
That is the theme for this weeks Sunday Postcard Challenge. I have a lot of Ideas for this one. Faces of our past. Faces of our future, and faces of innocence. All of these I started. This is the one I ended up with. I love the look on all of these faces. Especially the little mime in the center of the piece. She happens to be my daughter. I think she was probably ten or eleven when I took this photo of her. It has always been one of my favorites, and I knew someday I'd use it in my art.
"Art Creations Friday" this is a new challenge that caught my eye. I have been working on an art journal for the last six months. Wow! that was one of the pictures I used, so I thought I'd submit it to this challenge. Hope you enjoy!
HOT! HOT! HOT! is the theme this weeks Three Muses Challenge. Here it's NOT! NOT! NOT! Although today it was a about 29, which was warm compared to what it has been. A great day for a walk!
This is my entry for the "Three Muses Quote Challenge".
The whole quote reads Beauty is not in a face; beauty is a light in the heart. It's by Kahlil Gibran. This is one of my favorite quotes and I've used it before in other pieces. It just reminds my that real beauty comes from within.
"Vintage" is the word. The take A word challenge is a new one for me. Each week a word is chosen and each artist that joins in interprets the word in their own way. It's really a lot of fun to see what everyone comes up with. This is my entry
I was born and raised in southern Michigan. I'm blessed with three children, two boys and a girl that range in age from 22-30. I've been married to a wonderful man for the last 24 years. He's been very supportive of my art and has always encourged my artistic pursuits. Even though I have a fine arts degree I still consider myself largely a self taught mixed media artist. Inspiration for my art comes from many different places. Old family photos, my children, pets, and especially our garden, it's a passion that both Thom and I share.
