Stone Inspirations

Here are two more pieces inspired by Stone Monuments. Both are 4x6 on illustration board. The Angels wings came from a necklace I found at one of those five dollar and under jewelry places in the mall. I wish I would have got a few more, I'll probably never find them again!

Inspirations That Began With Stone

 

 

While surfing through photos on Pintrest.

I came across a few boards with lovely stone monuments of Angels. I just fell in love with the detail and beauty of these statues. This is probably going to be the first in a series of collage and pencil illustrations.

Lots of Ideas!

Sometimes when inspiration hits, you just got to go with it. For a long time now I've worked on a few pieces that were prepped and ready for detail work, things that I could put finishing touches on without too much difficulty. When I saw the image of the young lady in the paper hat, she looked like she lots of ideas, just waiting to happen!!!

 

 

This is another mixed media piece on illustration board, again, it's a small piece only 4x6. I used an old watch face, the metal gears and light bulb are from Tim Holtz. The Eye and the key are just random charms from my stash of treasures.

 

 

 

I'm starting to feel a little better from the shoulder surgery I had at the end of March. This is my third week into Physical Therapy. I can now raise my arm straight out in front even with my shoulder with no help and minimal pain! That might not seem like a big deal, but it really is!

The last few days I've been working on some small 4x6 mixed media on illustration board.

 

 

I've even went out to Michael's and purchased a sketch journal. Thought maybe I try my hand at illustrating again, it's been a while. Let's see if I still have the touch.

 

I Am A Dreamer

Like It Is!

 

The day I decided to create an art journal about my feelings, thoughts and frustrations, this was how my horoscope read! I guess this is one journal that was meant to be! The photo was pulled form a google search about the 60's. I've had it in my file for a long time. It just fits! Peace:)

Art Journaling my Feelings

 

For me art journaling has always been a way of expressing my feelings, I've never been one for confrontation with anyone. I'd much rather be kind, and not show my frustration with a situation. It makes my time in the studio at the end of the day so much more productive.

When I saw this quote by Al Capone, well it inspired this layout and helped me to realize that people who take advantage of your good nature are insecure and shallow.

When it comes right down to it your inner strength will make you the better person.

More Vintage Telephone Art

 

Since my shoulder surgery in March I really haven't been able to do a whole lot of what I love, my art! This is a piece that I started before the operation. All I had to was put the details in, a little at a time.

It's been just over a year since my husband retired from the AT&T. The quote on this piece is from an old Meri Wilson tune  "The Telephone Man song"  Looking forward to seeing what everyone came up with!
